Immerse yourself in the world of Shaabi with Brooklyn’s own Shaabi diva, Luna.
Luna is known for her undiluted, no-BS shaabi dancing that she soaked up from the streets of Cairo. She will share her knowledge in three workshops.
Each workshop is geared toward a different style of shaabi (mahrganaat, shaabi pop, “classic” shaabi) and requires a distinct set of skills. Luna will happily guide you through street technique as she untangles the iconic arm movements that stump even the most skilled dancers. Additionally, Luna will explain everything from lyrics to gestures to body language. This will provide dancers with the foundation necessary to bring their shaabi skills to the next level.
